Tecolote Ranunculus

Tecolote ranunculus is a premium strain of Ranunculus asiaticus, developed in Southern California’s Tecolote Canyon to deliver exceptionally large, double blooms—often 4–6 inches across—in a dazzling range of colors, including reds, pinks, oranges, yellows, whites, and bicolors. These flowers are packed with silky, layered petals and borne on strong, 18–24 inch stems, making them a favorite for cut flower production and high-impact garden displays.

Plant Tecolote tubers in early spring (Zones 4–7) or fall (Zones 8–10) in full sun and rich, well-drained soil. Soak the claw-like tubers for a few hours before planting 1–2 inches deep and 4–6 inches apart, claws down. Once established, they’re deer-resistant, moderately drought-tolerant, and bloom for 6–8 weeks in late spring to early summer.

Ideal for cutting gardens, containers, and borders, Tecolote ranunculus offers florist-quality blooms with minimal fuss.
