Scilla Flower Bulbs

Scilla, commonly known as squill, is a petite, fall-planted bulb that produces starry or bell-shaped flowers in shades of blue, violet, pink, or white. Blooming in early to mid-spring, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, making it ideal for woodland gardens, rockeries, and naturalized drifts.

One of the most popular species, Scilla siberica (Siberian squill), features intense blue, nodding blooms that spread easily, forming carpets of color beneath trees and shrubs. Scilla peruviana, a Mediterranean species, produces large, dome-shaped clusters of deep blue flowers in late spring.

Scilla is deer-resistant, drought-tolerant, and naturalizes readily, returning each year with minimal care. Its early blooms provide valuable nectar for pollinators, making it a great companion to crocus, snowdrops, and daffodils.
