Ornithogalum Flower Bulbs

Ornithogalum, commonly known as star-of-Bethlehem, is a genus of bulbous perennials prized for their star-shaped white or yellow flowers, often striped with green. These blooms appear in loose clusters atop slender, leafless stems, rising above narrow, strap-like foliage in mid- to late spring, with some species blooming into summer or fall.

Native to Europe, Africa, and western Asia, Ornithogalum thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, making it ideal for borders, rock gardens, and naturalized plantings. Many species are deer-resistant, drought-tolerant, and long-lasting in floral arrangements.

Popular species include O. umbellatum (a naturalizer in cooler zones), O. arabicum (with bold black centers), and O. thyrsoides (Chincherinchee), known for its long vase life and late-season bloom.
