Reiman Gardens switched to A.D.R. Bulbs 12 years ago and has never looked back. The bulbs are high quality and the customer service is exceptional. Chris and Philipp are always willing to answer my many questions! We take pride in supporting one of the last remaining bulb farms that grows and exports.

Hyacinthus orientalis 'Delft Blue' reaches 8 to 12 inches tall, featuring soft porcelain-blue florets densely packed on upright spikes. Its silvery edges and deep amethyst undertones create a luminous mid-spring display. The sweet fragrance attracts bees and butterflies, making it a valuable early-season nectar source. Ideal for full sun to part shade, this variety thrives in well-drained soil and is deer-resistant.

Planting: Plant bulbs in fall, 4 to 6 inches deep and 4 to 6 inches apart, with the pointed end facing up. For best results, plant in groups for maximum fragrance and visual impact.
Location: Full sun to partial shade. Choose a spot with good air circulation to prevent disease.
Soil: Moist but well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH 6.0–7.0). Avoid heavy clay—amend with compost or sand if needed.
Watering: Water after planting, then only during dry spells. Avoid overwatering—bulbs are prone to rot in soggy soil.
Temperature: Hardy in USDA zones 4–8. Requires 10–14 weeks of cold to bloom reliably.
Fertilization: Apply a balanced fertilizer at planting and again in early spring as shoots emerge.
Pruning: Remove spent flower spikes after blooming. Allow foliage to die back naturally to feed the bulb.
Propagation: Naturalizes slowly by offsets. Lift and divide clumps every few years in summer when dormant.
Pest & Disease: Generally pest-free. Bulbs are toxic to rodents and deer, but wear gloves—handling may cause skin irritation.
