I am a landscape designer and have been purchasing 1000's of spring flowering bulbs from A.D.R. Bulbs for 100's of clients in the last 20 years. The bulbs have always been of top quality and if there were any problems, they have been quick to rectify. My orders are often complicated with many varieties and different amounts and they have always filled and delivered everything on time with the best customer care and attention to detail.  The pictures in their catalog and website are beautiful. I have visited their facility in NY and was impressed with all their handling equipment and organization.  I would highly recommend A.D.R. Bulbs to anyone in the wholesale trade who wants to purchase quality bulbs and work with genuinely nice people.

Paeonia 'Boule de Neige' (Ships in Spring)

Garden Peony

Introduced in 1850 by French breeder Calot, Paeonia ‘Boule de Neige’ is a classic double white peony known for its creamy, antique‑white blooms and refined, old‑world character. Flowers open in late spring with full, rounded petals that may show subtle blush tones or faint crimson flecking at the center, giving each bloom gentle depth without overwhelming its soft, elegant form. The variety forms a sturdy, upright clump of deep green foliage and is valued for its reliability and long garden life, even without formal APS awards. In full sun with fertile, well‑drained soil, ‘Boule de Neige’ matures into a dependable, heirloom‑quality peony that brings timeless charm to borders, cutting gardens, and traditional landscapes.

Growing and Maintenance Tips for Paeonia 'Boule de Neige' (Ships in Spring)

Planting: Plant as early in spring as the soil can be worked—ideally before daytime temperatures consistently exceed 70°F. Set the crown 1 to 2 inches below the soil surface. Avoid planting too deep, as this can delay or prevent blooming.
Spacing: Space plants 2.5 to 3 feet apart to allow for mature spread and good air circulation.
Light: Full sun (6–8 hours daily) is best. In warmer zones, light afternoon shade can help reduce heat stress.
Soil: Rich, well-drained soil with a neutral pH (6.5–7.0). Amend with compost and grit if needed to improve drainage.
Watering: Water deeply after planting and keep soil evenly moist (not soggy) through the first growing season.
Temperature & Humidity: Hardy in USDA zones 3–8. Spring-planted peonies may take longer to establish and bloom, especially in warmer zones.
Fertilization: Hold off on fertilizing until the second year. Focus on root development in year one.
Staking: Large double blooms may need support. Install peony rings or discreet stakes early in the season.
Pruning: Deadhead spent blooms. Cut foliage to the ground in fall after frost.
Propagation: Divide clumps only if necessary, and only in fall—peonies dislike disturbance.
Pest & Disease: Generally pest-free. Good air circulation helps prevent botrytis blight. Avoid overhead watering.
