We love the selection of bulbs available from A.D.R.  The variety is great, the quality is excellent and the price is fair.  However, the best part of working with A.D.R is the customer service from Chris, Walter and all of the team.  They go out of their way to make sure ours needs are met.

Muscari 'Atlantic'

Grape Hyacinth

Muscari 'Atlantic' is a vibrant grape hyacinth, reaching 8 inches in height. It produces azure-blue, bell-shaped flowers with a sweet fragrance, blooming in mid-spring. This variety is particularly striking when planted in dense drifts or alongside narcissus and tulips for a layered effect.

Thriving in full sun to part shade, 'Atlantic' prefers rich, well-drained soil and is deer-resistant, rabbit-resistant, and beloved by pollinators. It naturalizes well, making it an excellent choice for rock gardens, borders, and containers.

Growing and Maintenance Tips for Muscari 'Atlantic'

Planting: Plant bulbs in fall, 3 to 4 inches deep and 2 to 3 inches apart, with the pointed end up. For a natural look, scatter and plant where they fall.
Location: Full sun to partial shade. Ideal under deciduous trees where spring light is abundant before leaf-out.
Soil: Well-drained, moderately fertile soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH (6.0–7.0). Tolerates sandy or loamy soils.
Watering: Water after planting and during active growth in spring. Once foliage yellows, reduce watering—bulbs prefer dry summer dormancy.
Temperature: Hardy in USDA zones 4–8. Requires a cold period to bloom reliably.
Fertilization: Apply compost or a low-nitrogen fertilizer in fall or early spring. Bone meal is also beneficial at planting.
Pruning: Allow foliage to die back naturally—it nourishes the bulb for next year. Remove seed pods if you want to limit self-seeding.
Propagation: Naturalizes easily by offsets and self-seeding. Divide clumps in summer when dormant if needed.
Pest & Disease: Generally pest-free. Deer- and rodent-resistant. Good drainage prevents bulb rot.
