Crocus Species 'Orange Monarch'

Crocus

Crocus olivieri subsp. balansae 'Orange Monarch' reaches 3 to 4 inches tall, featuring golden-orange, goblet-shaped blooms with rich mahogany feathering on the outer petals. The glossy exterior contrasts beautifully with the brilliant orange-yellow interior and bright golden anthers, creating a striking early-spring display. This compact, clump-forming variety thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers well-drained soil.

Ideal for naturalizing, rock gardens, borders, and lawns, it is deer-resistant and reliably returns year after year. Flowers open only in bright light, closing at night or on cloudy days.
