Camassia esculenta, commonly known as Quamash, reaches about 20–28 inches tall and produces tapering spikes of star‑shaped, rich to deep blue florets. Its upright, grass‑like foliage forms tidy clumps in spring, creating a natural, meadow‑like look as the flowers rise above the leaves.

This hardy perennial thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well‑drained soil, performing especially well in meadows, naturalized areas, and under‑grass plantings. Deer‑resistant and long‑lived, it reliably returns each year in Zones 4–9 without the need for lifting.
