Alocasia odora, commonly known as Night-Scented Lily or Giant Upright Elephant Ear, is a tropical perennial with large, glossy, heart-shaped leaves that stand upright on sturdy stalks. It thrives in warm, humid environments with bright, indirect light and moist, well-drained soil. Unlike other Alocasia species, it produces fragrant flowers, particularly noticeable at night, adding to its ornamental appeal. Hardy in USDA zones 9-11, it requires protection from frost and benefits from regular pruning and fertilization to maintain its lush growth.
