Growing and Maintenance Tips for Gladiolus Callianthus 'Muriliae' (Ships in Spring)

Planting: Plant corms in spring after the last frost, 3 to 5 inches deep and 4 to 6 inches apart, with the pointed end facing up. Soak corms for a few hours before planting if they appear dry.
Location: Full sun is best. Choose a sheltered spot to protect the slender stems from wind.
Soil: Well-drained, moderately fertile soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0–7.0). Add grit or sand to improve drainage.
Watering: Water regularly during active growth, keeping soil evenly moist but not soggy. Reduce watering once foliage begins to yellow.
Temperature: Hardy in USDA zones 7–10. In colder zones, lift corms in fall and store in a cool, dry place.
Fertilization: Apply a balanced fertilizer when shoots emerge and again at bud formation. Avoid high-nitrogen formulas.
